Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania (The MoALit)


Who are they?

The MoALit is the state-budget institution of the Republic of Lithuania which formulates public policy, as well as organizes, coordinates and controls the implementation of the policy in the areas within the competence of the minister of agriculture. The objectives of the MoALit is to shape public policy in the areas of land, food, fishery, rural development and agriculture.

The MoALit fosters cooperation among Lithuanian and foreign researchers by granting state aid for international agricultural research. The MoALit supports applied research in fields of food, agronomy, horticulture, ecology, fishery, animal genetics and sustainable animal production. It is the priority of The MoALit to fund Lithuanian researchers doing international agricultural research which covers the three pillars of sustainability – environment, society and economy.


How are they involved in SUSFOOD?     

MoALit is a SUSFOOD partner since 2017 and funder in one SUSFOOD 2-project (DISCOVERY).
